Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Harry N Walters on December 9, 2014:

Bill Schwartz was a man of great faith. While I was Assistant Secretary of the Army from 1881-1983, a plan was submitted by the Fisher brothers to build a place of worship for Jewish cadets at West Point. A location for the new Jewish Chapel was debated and Bill Schwartz was the lead in this discussion.

The recommendation was finally forwarded thanks to a lot of effort in the Jewish community. Bill was passionate about these discussions and was helpful in the final decision to build the Jewish Chapel at its present location allowing a full view of the Hudson River. Without his involvement this project might not have been consummated. So he is now with his God and his work on earth is done. May it be said "well done" Bill.

Blessings to his family and his friends while we mourn his death and regale his life.

Respectfully,

Harry and Illa Walters
