Be Thou At Peace

Posted by COL(ret) Douglas K Jackson on October 20, 2016:

I am blessed to have known Don. I did not know him at West Point but met him later after he retired and was serving as the Director of Army Instruction for all the JROTCs in Hawaii. What an amazing man and the epitome of service to this Nation. In his time there he expanded the number of JROTC schools and because of him there are more high schools in Hawaii that have JROTC as a % of schools in a state than anywhere else in the Nation. His legacy of thousands of students whose life he was a part of changing is amazing. I also spent time as a field force recruiter with him and enjoyed our long conversations about the Army, JROTC and life in general. When he left JROTC the program has always had a bit of a hole there that exists today.

You were a great man Don and served this country so well. Well Done! Be thou at peace.
