Be Thou At Peace

Posted by George Hamilton on May 26, 2020:

I consider it my pleasure to have had Clint for a West Point classmate and friend. In my memory, now 57 years after graduation, I can still see Clint accepting a compliment with an "aw shucks" smile and tilt of his head. We were proud to have him as our first class company commander. He was a leader among his peers, but not in the dominant manner of so many in the military. He was the type of guy that others willingly followed. A rare gift.

Like so many, our careers separated at graduation and it was many years later at reunions that we reconnected. Clint spent many of his later years in hot pursuit of ball lighting and cold fusion. I do not know whether he ever succeeded in corralling his scientific quest or if others have picked up his work, but it is the dedicated pursuit of scientific quests, against many naysayers, that produces significant breakthroughs. Clint had that determination for a scientific quest. He is to commended for his pursuit, success or not.
