John was more than a classmate and friend. He was my French ?nemesis?. John always sat #1 in French First Section and I was always #2. He was so good that we all called him ?grenouille? (French for ?Froggy?). As #2, I always ?tried harder? but could never replace him. I learned much from John?about French, and about friendship. John, ?mon cher?, I still see your face sitting to my left beside me in class. I miss you and believe they love you in heaven as we loved you in life. |
