Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Bill Miller on April 19, 2001:

Bob was my roommate during Yearling year. As we all know he was quite the hive; I was ok in academics but he was head and shoulders above me. He was always eager to help any of us whenever and however he could. John Harnisch, Doug Barr and I were inseparable in those days and we used to harrass a few of the cows plus Bob when he was reluctant to ais us. In retribution for his passiveness, one time, we replaced Bob's Colgate Toothpaste with shaving cream. When the time came for him to brush his teeth it was all I could do to hold back from laughing before he put the loaded brush in his mouth. When he finally did begin to brush and for what seemed more than a minute he didn't say a word....then he semi-gagged, simultaneously spit across the room, and shouted some unintelligible oath which I doubt very much was an expletive! Bob was a wonderful person, a fine cadet and soldier, and an example for us all.
