Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jed Brown on August 1, 2006:

On 28 July 2006, at the age of 63, I, Jed Brown, Brigadier General, United States Army, Retired, turned in my mess kit and was honorably discharged from the ranks of the living.

I wish to thank my dearly departed parents Ethel and Victor Brown for bringing me into this world and raising me, West Point for preparing me for life and sending me on my way, and the U.S. Army for providing me an opportunity to be all I could be. I also give thanks to a considerable number of dear and true friends and loved ones who, with their sincere love and affection, have done so much to make my sojurn on earth such a pleasant and enjoyable one, particularly my daughters Deborah and Suzanne and my beloved wife Jean. I certainly hope to meet them all again in the foreseeable future at a happy reunion in the great beyond. My final wishes are for God to bless my family, friends, classmates and comrades in arms, and for God to bless America.
