Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dan Evans on August 1, 2006:

28 July 2006: Jed passed away peacefully this afternoon at about 1600 at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC. Most of his last few weeks were spent at Walter Reed trying to battle a vicious cancer that tore through his body with lightning speed. His wife Jean was constantly at his side. His daughters Debbie and Suzie were able to spend two wonderful weeks with him before he began fading. In addition, a number of old classmates and company mates were able to brighten his days by visiting. He fought on bravely in great pain, but finally the cancer took its toll.

Before he passed, he asked me to thank all for their visits, phone calls, and thoughts and prayers. In my last conversation with him, Jed asked me to send his best wishes to all Classmates and Army friends.

A true Soldier and Friend has passed. May God Bless Our Class.
