Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tom Lough on August 13, 1999:

Hi, Tom!!

Thanks for your posting about your upcoming visit with Cliff McKittrick's brother, Jack.

After graduation, I had to go to Fort Sam Houston right away. While on the way there [driving my brand new car, natch!] I stopped in South Carolina to visit Cliff. My memory of the visit is rather hazy, unfortunately, but I do remember stopping and having a warm visit. That was the last time I ever saw him.

I can visualize him so easily even after all these years. Remember how his eyes would squint up a little when he listened to you and thought about what you were saying? Then would come that grin and his response. He was one of the finest people I have ever known, and I still think about him from time to time.

Please tell his family members that I am holding them in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for offering to do this.

Best wishes,

Tom Lough
