Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Howie Bachman on February 25, 2002:

Mike and I were tight at school. He and I played a lot of tennis together. We use to go to the officer quarters area to get away from Woo Poo for awhile and play tough tennis. He was better than I ever was. Kathy and he saved me one night when I had had too much to drink. They left me money and enough directions to get back to my car after I crashed at a hotel room in NYC. We stood outside of the dining hall and made up our minds to go armor and sign up for the 14th ACR. It was our only assignment together but one that we both enjoyed. I will miss him alot.
