Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Murray on February 27, 2002:

Hermano Miguel,
Now that you're at peace, let me write a few words recalling our happy times of yore. One great thing about our class, as we found out, is that even though we didn't know each other as cadets, when we became neighbors while on the faculty back there our friendship was able to hit the ground running because of our common bond. In our case we had even more - speaking Spanish and drinking beer. Remember those times when we would listen to Spanish music and other times when we could exchange comments that our friends didn't understand? Fortunately everyone believed that we were just practicing espanol! Y la cerveza! Remember how we took turns watching Monday Night Football and drinking beer at each others houses? And we always made it to work the next day! And you even were able to co-author a textbook while on that assignment!
Mike, you were a helluva guy and you have left a great legacy. We'miss you tremendously. At least we were able to share a few more beers during your last months. Thanks for the memories.
