Be Thou At Peace

| Mike and I commanded battalions together in the 1st Training Brigade at Ft Knox in the early 80's. He had the 2nd Battalion and I had the 4th Battalion. Our headquarters were about forty feet apart. I took command about two weeks before he did and joked the entire two years about how much that extra experience was of invaluable assistance in command. Our units competed, as any two battalions in the same brigade would do, but our relationship was always close. We knew we could count of each other should helped be needed. The close relationship with Mike made that time especially memorable. I always smile when think of those times. |
