Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tom Curran on March 13, 2002:

Mike and I roomed together during part of yearling year. In reference to John Murray's posting, Mike introduced me to Mariachi music which is something we had never heard on the tundra of Minnesota. It has remained a lifelong interest and I have acquired a fairly expansive collection of Mariachi and Ranchero recordings over the years and almost always think of Mike when I play them. We spent a lot of time contrasting the cultural differences between growing up in Minnesota and an Arizona boarder town. After we were dispersed for Cow year, I still saw him a lot and had the pleasure of getting to know Kathy, like myself an Irish Catholic, during forays into NYC before we graduated. I had the honor of attending their wedding in NYC shortly after graduation and it was a tribute to the Irish's ability to throw a major party. With branch selections we went in different directions but on occasion I was able to catch up with him and we would reminisce about all the good times we shared. I never had the honor of meeting Tina. Rest well Mike and I will keep you in my heart and my prayers.
