Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Bob Magruder on July 23, 1999:

We will all miss Al. He was just a great guy and good company mate while at West Point. The most amazing fact of his having ALS and really suffering with it for the last year plus, was that he still participated with the class at last years picnic and the XMAS bridge party, and noone was really aware of his suffering. When John Murray finally was allowed to tell the class at last month's bridge, for most it was total shock. The classes response, especially the emails to the entire class, was a great comfort to those of us who knew Al fairly well.

For those of us that procrastinated, let this be our own lesson. Maria, we are glad the family was able to come in last weekend to be with Al at the end. You and your family are in our prayers.

The DC continguent will rally on the 1st and 2nd to give Al a nice send off. If classmates coming in from out of town need a place to sleep, please let me know. Well done Al, Angie and I pray that you are now "At Peace!".
