Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Sal Culosi on July 23, 1999:

John Murray, Russ Russell and I have been in close contact with AL and his family for the past 15 years. We celebrated the holidays together - we loved each other. He was a great friend. I had the privilege of being at his bedside when this terrible illness took him. He elected not to live on life support systems and other extra-ordinary measures. Hours before his passing, when he received the Last Rites (Al became a Catholic 2 months ago - I was his Godfather and Al took John Murray's name as a Confirmation name), he acknowledged that he had made his peace with the Lord and was ready to be received into the Heavenly Kingdom. His courage in the end reflected the courage and tenacity he exemplified during his life. He will be missed. We can honor his memory by being the jovial, caring, loving person he was and will remain in the afterlife. The family has been very appreciative of the comments and messages sent by classmates.
