Bill and I were roomates during the first semester of Plebe year in Company K-1. His high school sweetheart, Carolyn, was always part of our late night disussions as we shined shoes and brass, prepared our room for next day inspection or memorized the ever-changing "poop". His deep love for his future bride was evident even then. My family had the pleasure of getting to know Bill well. He not only joined us when they would visit but I remember he visited our home in New Jersey after the 1960 Oklahoma football game in Yankee Stadium. For years afterward, my mom and dad would mention Bill Miller and ask me if I had heard from him ... he was like their adopted out-of-state cadet! We remained friends throughout our cadet years and, although we did not remain close after graduation, I was very saddened to hear of his unexpected passing. My prayers are with his family.
