Vukoslav Eneas Aguirre

West Point, 1964

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Sandra Rietti on August 8, 2020:

This past July 25th, Vukoslav Eneas Aguirre, a wonderful man, a warrior succumbed to his final battle, entering the gates of Heaven.

Vuk was born in Chile, and came into our lives in 1969 when he met the love of his life, my sister, Emma, whom he married a year later. Vuk came to love Honduras as a second home. He had an excellent academic background, graduating with honors from the prestigious West Point Academy, and completing post-graduate studies at the University of Illinois. As an Engineer specialized in soils and environmental engineering, he started his successful business in Denver, Colorado, where he lived most of his life.

My brother in law was an example of intelligence, integrity, honesty, hard work, discipline and so many other virtues that made him a wonderful human being. He leaves behind the love of his life, my dear sister, painfully yearning for him. They built a strong, Christian marriage for 50 years, had 2 adoring children, Sergio and Tonka, who gave Vuk and Emma 5 beautiful granddaughters. His love and devotion to them will live on in their hearts as cherished memories.

Vuk fit in well with our family, where he was loved and respected. He was always attentive and always reliable in our joys and needs. Personally, in Vuk, I gained an older brother, and we communicated constantly. My husband, Mario, and I cherished priceless moments with my sister and brother-in-law. He had a great familiar relationship with Mario, sharing long conversations about politics, the economy, current events, life, and so many topics, over a fine glass of wine.

It breaks my heart not being able to be with my beloved sister, to hold her through this difficult time, and be there for my niece and nephew and the rest of the family. We are sure Vuk has left us to be with our Heavenly Father, with the Virgin Mary in Heaven, and with his parents, Eneas and Tonka, his beloved in-laws and so many loved ones who have preceded us on this inevitable journey.

Rest in peace, Vuk. We already miss you greatly.

Your Sis.
