I just want to tell the family that I met with Kirby at our Brigade operations center just before he and his battalion commander left by helicopter which was shot down minutes after leaving our location. We just briefly shared a few stories of our VN combat experiences and then he had to leave. Unfortunately, that is all I can contribute to his story since our meeting was so brief. |
