Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Hork on April 10, 2007:

Kirby was the head Cadet Activities honcho during firstie year and in that capacity was a great friend to have. Numerous civilian organizations would request cadet participation in their activies. These requests would go through Kirby to the Officer in Charge of Cadet Activities for approval. Very few were deemed appropriate for cadet/academy partication and very few were approved. If a request came in that Kirby knew would be disapproved, but looked like fun, he would short stop the request, write back and say we would be happy to participate, and then alert his buddies. We would then take part as if the activity had Academy sponsorship. Had some good times that way. The "Miss Live Wire" contest comes to mind.
