Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Joe Mastriani on August 19, 2009:

We've been apart a long time, Tom, although you've re-appeared often because of the circumstances of your passing. I, too, fell asleep that night, but was so fortunate to have been awakened by an NC State Trooper whose siren told me to pull over where I was ticketed for speeding. Pete DesJardins, my passenger, was also fast asleep.

Having dislocated my shoulder rather badly while wrestling firstie year, your presence in our Ranger class following your drop from the rope made me super-vigilent about keeping my arm hard against my side. Thanks, buddy.

You also appear as I teach my Italian classes when I remember teasing you during Beast Barracks about the Polish pronunciation of that great Italian name! I'll proudly stand beside your resting place at the 45th; this afternoon, a letter goes out to your brother and sister for memories to relate to our classmates
