Tom and I were good friends at the academy. We both took our commissions in the USAF and were initially assigned to Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. We co-coached a youth baseball team. Tom sat with me in the base hospital waiting room while my wife delivered our first child. We had no direct contact after that assignment, but I retain fond memories of Tom as a cadet, an officer and, most vividly, as a wonderful friend. |
