| It was largely because of Don and the other members of the "Longevity Squad" (Pictured on Page 272 of "Howitzer 1965") that I made it through the 4 years. It is still hard to fully appreciate the special glue that held us together Plebe Year through thick and thin; I am Incredibly Grateful for having known Don Appler. He created a template for not just surviving but succeeding in challenging situations and environments moving forward. |
