Be Thou At Peace

| As a member of the class of '66, I was blessed to serve as a manager for the football team; hence, I observed JOHN JOHNSON, #22,in practice and in games. His attitude, dedication, and team spirit never varied. He epitomized being an ARMY FOOTBALL PLAYER. Years later, I was blessed to work with him on two football-team reunions (2009 and '14) and had the pleasure and privilege and honor of getting to know him and his wonderful wife MARY. As he had been in football, so he was in his personal dealings. We exchanged emails often on a range of topics, and it was always a joy to hear from him. Name any outstanding attribute, and he possessed it; the list would be endless. He had a true servant's heart, gave new meaning to being selfless, and, accordingly, was loved by so many. My wife CLAIRE and I count ourselves blessed to be in that number. |
