Be Thou At Peace

I was in John's L-1 Company our first two years. He was 'Mr. Calm' to me and just a terrific example of 'marching along' each and every day. We had classes together and remained 'in view' as First Regiment cadets. A really Good Guy! He went Infantry, I selected The Air Force. The Reunions were the only casual contact, but one situation stood out. I guided 'tennis activity' a few times and one time John came over to the courts, watching the entire session. We chatted afterwards and he was so genuine in expressing his interest in the game and admiring/complimenting our getting out there 'having a hit'. That stayed with me as he could have gone many places during that 'open time' of our Reunion schedule. Rest in Peace. |
