Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Scott Holtslander on April 12, 2006:

Frank was in my frosh & soph class at Balboa High School in the mid-fifties. I knew him, but we were not really friends. He lived in Cocoli as I recall. I lived at Rodman Naval Station.

Later, in 1967, I read the Newsweek story of his death, and that sticks with me as a key memory from that time. I was in the Navy, then, spending about three years ashore in Viet-Nam myself between 1966 and 1970.

I remembered him again today when I was surfing the web for stories about the Canal Zone and searched his name. Writing this, I still feel sad that he died there. He was a good person.
