Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Bruce Korda on July 9, 2014:

Lorraine: Please accept my deepest sympathies upon the death of Rich. I remember him as a true gentleman, a happy person and one who was truly fun to be with. Rich and I were in close proximity throughout our West Point experience....we were in adjoining Cadet Companies for all four years, we were "stupid together" in many a classroom, we each graduated in the TOP of the BOTTOM THIRD of our class, and both selected Armor Branch, as the allocated slots were running out. Although we were not best-of-friends, we were buddies and spent a good amount of time together near the end of Firstie Year.

In my reminiscences, he was always smiling, laughing and telling jokes....a real good guy. So in reading your note to Meagan about Rich's outstanding attributes as a husband and father, it was no surprise to me that he turned out to be the all-around outstanding person that you so touchingly described. It's the same guy I knew so many years ago.
