Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Brad Sparks on April 2, 2007:

Memeory fades and only the most outstanding people we encounter survive the slow, debilitating process. For me, Mel and Terry Tinker continue to live. Mel was one of my few compatriots from Idaho, a sparsely populated state. I never met Mel as a cadet, but only as a fellow Signal officer while we were stateside. What an outstanding officer with such a beautiful and intelligent wife! Charming, attractive, smart--they had the whole world ahead of them. I still remember vividly when I heard that he and Terry were killed instantly in an auto accident on the German autobahn. I felt so saddened and shocked, as I still feel today, about the tragedy and loss.

Mel and Terry, you will always live on in my mind as this terrific couple who were standard bearers for the best of the line. Rest in peace.
