Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dennis J. Frazier on April 20, 2009:

Jon was a great friend... before, during, and after graduation. Having been appointed by the same Florida congressman, Jon and I met for the first time in Winter Haven to plan our trip north to West Point. We flew up the day before entering WP, laughing and talking while shining our shoes until past midnight to look great the first day, only to have them taken away the next morning...not government issue. Despite being in different regiments, as the years passed, we enjoyed catch up times about our lives and families. After his service,Jon returned to his home in Florida to be near family, which never surprised me. He loved his family and the Corps. He had a great laugh and smile and was always a good friend. 40 years later, I can still see him as we walked into West Point together for the first time.
