Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jerry Kerr D-4 1970 on March 10, 2012:

Marshall and I were Texas boys I learned during Beast Barracks. He from a farm, with that permanent farmer's tan, and I from the city of San Antonio. One of my memories of Marshall, although not fond at the time, was of Plebe wrestling. Being from Texas we both thought "rastling" was something you watched on TV. Well the wrestling detail was coming to a close and Marshall and I were vying for class goat. We wrestled and needless to say I wound up counting lights in the gym ceiling. I remember Marshall as a kind cadet who never let anything bother him. His loss saddened me during a trying time for this country. Thank you, Marshall, for your service and sacrifice. The world was a better place for your having been here. Be thou at Peace.
