I did not really know Mike all that well, except for the fact we were fellow 98 lb wrestling competitors in high school. Whenever we did speak I alaays thought he was a great guy. However what I remember most is the one time we did compete against each other in January 1965 . Mike was as ferocious a competitor as I had ever faced. All I can remember to this day is the close match we had and how Mike cranked on me for almost the whole third period in his attempt to turn me to my back. As it turned out it was only his overzealousness that allowed me the opportunity to score a reversal in the last 10 seconds and pull out the match. While I may have won that battle Michael ultimately won the war by winning the league title a month later. Anyhow although I have known of Mike�s passing for more than 20 years I continue to feel a deep sadness over his passing at such a young age. RIP Mike!
