| I was in VIet Nam in 1972 and my platoon leader was 1LT Dunphy. I just decided to look him up today and the only hit was this obituary showing he had passed on in 1990. I noticed there were no posts and I felt terrible about that. I can't recall which company but we were in the 3/21 Infantry with the 196th Infantry BDE. I was a PFC and he shortly got me promoted to SPC-4. I carried the radio for his platoon SGT. I have not kept up with anyone else from the platoon; choosing rather to put that time all behind me. I wish I hadn't now. Rest in peace LT. You were a great leader and I always was impressed with how well trained you were. |
