Be Thou At Peace

It was long ago, plebe year in B4 when Pete and I did a stint together as roommates. And I don't remember what led us to it, but one night we were both sitting at our desks dressed only in our WP issue underwear. We must have been playfully taunting each other because we soon ended up in a wrestling match on the floor. Don't think either of us triumphed as the bout came to an end since we were both laughing uncontrollably. The next year found me transferred to D4, and contact with Pete lessened. After graduation our paths did not cross, but I never forgot our spontaneous contest. I was looking forward to the 50th reunion and asking Pete what he remembered of that day. Instead I'll drink a toast to him and his spunky spirit. Cheers Pete ! |
