I first met Kurt and his young bride, Cheryl, when he was assigned to my HAWK battery at Kirchgoens, Germany in the Fall of 1970. Because Kurt and Cheryl had a long wait for housing,my wife, Barbara,and I asked them to share our 4 bedroom quarters at Butzbach am Hesse's Roman Way Housing Area. They lived with us for several months.He was an impressive young officer. We became lifelong friends as well as professional military associates. I will miss him. May he rest in peace. |
