| I just found this out by googling his name. Though I never served, Donald Zacherl, or Captain Zacherl as I knew him in the early 1980s was my ROTC professor at Hofstra University. He also taught a class with the Political Science department on Military History. He was a super bright guy and very approachable and friendly. He also started a Rugby Team on campus. He was getting his masters at Hofstra and had more interactions with other departments and other people than anyone else in the ROTC department. He served as quite the intelligent mentor to many cadets in ROTC as well as a friend. |
