Be Thou At Peace

I spent 4 years in Company F-2 (The Zoo) and routinely interacted with Danny in classes, in intramurals and in the barracks. Later I would see him at reunions and online. Danny was a great American who was not afraid to speak his mind, but always with humility, humor and respect. I am so happy that I knew him, and so sorry that he had to suffer with cancer. I wish his family well. No better way to express my words than from our Alma Mater: And when our work is done, Our course on earth is run, May it be said, "Well done" Be thou at peace." E'er may that line of gray Increase from day to day Live, serve, and die, we pray, West Point, for thee. Hope to see you again one day Danny! Sincerely, Dave Thomas F-2 '75 |
