Duane my Beast Barracks roommate and helped me make it through those first few terrible months in the summer of 1972. He was an exceptional human being, an incredible athlete, and a rare friend. In the midst of all the turmoil, he lauged and made me laugh. The good ones die young, they say, and it is certainly true in Duane's case. He was only getting started and we have all suffered a terrible loss at his passing. Duane had a remarkable passion for life and lived it like it was one big, fun game. That was the lesson he taught me. Thanks for all the joy and laughter you brought to us, Duane. -Randy |
