Earl and I were roommates in those first formidable months of plebe year. We were both from small towns and would often commiserate with each other on how to get through the next day. I remember vividly one evening Earl looking into the mirror and practicing his sayings, "Sir, there are 63 and a butt days until Christmas and Christmas leave for the United States Corps of Cadets." We could not wait to get home on leave. Earl, you have journeyed far beyond that holiday leave and touched many people on the way. Now, your earthly clock no longer matters and your eternal clock has just begun. God Bless You and Rest in Peace. |
