Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Barbara on September 5, 2004:

Jody and I spent ten years together, he was the most selfless person I have ever known. He gave "all" to those he loved, and even in the struggles with his health he never stopped giving and loving. West Point was the highlight of his life and the one thing that remained constant in his identity and direction in life.

I am so glad he found peace with himself after so much pain, he deserved more from life, but God knew he could handle it so that's why He gave him so much to bear. I personally know how intense that load was over the years after his first diagnosis with Hodgkins disease in 1987. He was the kinda guy that went camping with my son's boyscout troop less than a week after surgery, who drove home from NJ during his 2 week reserve duty to check on me when I ran my hand through a window. There are volumes of events I could write about, but there isn't enough room here. I miss you everyday, and I know you know that now, David and Andrew loved you and considered you their "real" Dad. Rest in Peace honey, see you on the other side.
