Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Lynn McNeill Hendrix on June 1, 2012:

Captain Fink was my first commander in Giessen FRG. He was a calm, fair, kind leader who always had time to listen. He talked often of how much he missed his children and being a part of their lives every day. He was an outstanding army officer. When I first arrived in Germany with a pinpoint assignment for the 532d Signal Company, there was a mixup with my orders and they were going to reassign me. I wandered out of the orientation meeting and found someone who knew how to dial out on the German phones at the airport. I called my unit and CPT Fink and 1LT Vnce Coviello raced over to Frankfurt to save their lost LT. CPT Fink was an awesome commander to have on my first assignment.

Rest in peace Jody Fink. You left this world far too soon. I am sure God is enjoying hving a good listener and a faithful friend beside him in heaven.
