Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Lawrence "Lonnie" Harris on January 19, 2016:

My deepest sympathy goes out to Dick McEvoy's family, I had the honor of Serving as Dick's Company XO at the start of his career in A Company 1/38th Infantry "Cold Steel" in Camp Hovey Korea. From the first day I sent the company jeep to pick him up from the "Turtle Farm" (Camp Casey) and he reported to the unit he displayed true professionalism and a calm demeanor, something his soldiers quickly respected him for and bonded us as brothers forever. The officers within the unit created a special bond that will never be broken. We all were reassigned to (USAJKFSWC) Fort Bragg, NC and Dick stood in my wedding party but our career paths never crossed again. Our friendship and brotherhood stood the test of time and you will never be forgotten my friend. Thank you for being a true "American Hero" and someone I will always be proud to call my "Brother in Arms". As a Professional Officer and Defense Contractor Job well done, Rest in Peace.
