Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dean Robinson on January 16, 2020:

I knew Tom as a fellow Wrestler and and Officer. He was an intense man of action. For me, a long conversation with Tom was maybe 30 words. His most memorable humor "I feel sorry for the poor bastard that tries to mug Coach Alitz for his Social Security check." He was a reliable guy you wanted on your left or right flank. We froze together on a tank with no heater. We fixed thrown track in mud up to our knees. I was the only one complaining.

PTB83 has taken more casualties from threats that we were never trained to fight. I wanted to break the silence. Silence alone has not proven to be a very effective weapon against our worst enemies. Be thou at peace, Tom, and my humblest apology for the delay in this eulogy. My heart goes out to Tom, his surviving family, and other classmates fighting the fight. Dean Robinson MD USMA83
