Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Craig McLeod on December 9, 2000:

The last time I saw 'Dris' was during Reforger in Germany, we were roommates at FAOBC, and we went to Ranger School at the same time. I always felt that Leighton was not going to shortchange himself when it came to enjoying the most life had to offer. For awhile, many people lived their lives vicariously thru Leighton. From fine automobiles, to clothing, to attractive dates, he was in style. That was the only side of 'Dris' I knew before we graduated. Once we shared an apartment in Ft. Sill, I saw him reveal his best qualities: committed, honest, tenacious, and intelligent. Way more intelligent than he was leading on. Leighton is the reason, I decided to visit this web-site. I am shocked to see that after 11 years, I'm the first to post a Euology in his honor considering he was closer to many other cadets than myself. I feel very privileged to be the first to post a eulogy for Leighton
