Be Thou At Peace

Posted by siegfred mison on August 27, 2005:

rene was a man who was never afraid to speak his mind. he displayed courage in the face of all criticisms and possble baccklash to what he may say. despite leaving the army, his heart belonged to the armed forces as he contributed the power of his pen to reform the AFP. despite not being in the phil, his heart belonged to the country as he did what he can to get rid of the menace of corruption by writing, speaking, and doing what he does best - interacting with people.

rene was my very good friend when i was at west point. we shared 3years of solid partying as i took him to my friends and relatives in the U.S. as he did the same. we even had a common love interest in a girl named rowena. he really lived the life as a cadet. he was well known by his peers and collegues, a true testament to what he really is - a people person

i thought someday rene would join govt and do something about our homeland. he had the passion and spirit to do something good. he would truly have made an impact and make our WEST POINT proud. rene would have been the genuine MAKATAO na presidente.

i somehow envy him now since i know he is up there together with the ANGELS. he is at peace. farewell my dear friend
