Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Harold Lewis on April 29, 2006:

I was Lt. Locklin's 1SG in A Btry 92 FA, MLRS, Ft. Hood Texas. I can say without a doubt that few officers possessed the potential of Lt. Locklin. He called my wife mom, and everyone in the unit looked up to Lt. Locklin I have served in combat in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne, 2/11 FA. and I have never served with a finer officer than Lt. Locklin. His loss was a loss you never want to come, a fine junior officer, with general officer potential, and a real love for soldiers, not motivated by career, but a genuine love and care for the soldiers he was sworn to train and protect, and lead. He was a leader, a mentor, and my friend.
Command Sergeant Major (Ret) Harold E. Lewis, he lives in my heart forever.
