Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Elliott O. Phillips Jr on February 19, 2003:

Sid,
I know this comes many years after your passing, but you are someone that I never will forget, and I don't think it is ever too late to say good things about someone.
You were my roommate plebe year, and I remember that you had a knack for getting "caught" by the upper class and often took the heat off of the rest of us. But you never let it get you down. I remember closing down Ike Hall (or at least Cullum)on Saturday nights. Later you lived a couple floor down in Sherman barracks so we kept in touch.
One year I'd invited you to my parents house for Thanksgiving, and you left a note written on the back of protractor box. I still have that note and every time I come across it I think of you and the things we went through as plebes, and I again mourn your loss. You will always be missed my friend.
