Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Pat (Olson) Weltin on May 12, 2004:

I took some time to go back through Ed Ruggerio's Book, DUTY FIRST to read about you today, Rob. We all saw something different in you, but we all agreed you lived your life in a way that left us with a lasting impression. Today you would have been 39 years old. Somehow it doesn't seem fair that we said goodbye to the youngest in the family. I sat by the might Oak tree this evening I planted in my yard in your memory, and thought about the phone calls, the family gatherings, the trips to West Point, the communications during the first Gulf War, your beautiful family and found that I could do so without tears this year. We are all making progress and moving forward - you would be proud!

A remarkable young man is gone now,
and this world seems a little lessened somehow
because he is not a part of it ~
a little less wise and great, a little less good and brave.
And is helps to know that he will never be forgotten
by those whose lives he touched ~
he will always be remembered.

Rest in peace little man, you are always loved.

Your biggest fan and oldest sister, Pat
