Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Paula E. White on June 25, 2000:

I don't think I could ever fully explain to you how blessed I feel to have been Mrs. Tim White for 12 years. Our time together was the most joyous and precious of my life and I will forever be changed because of Tim and his love for me and our children. There are so many things that I will always cherish about Tim. His smile was captivating, and I could always depend on him to make me giggle when I was feeling down. Even while going through cancer treatments, Tim's sense of humor enabled us both to have positive attitudes.

A talented musician, Tim always touched the deepest part of my heart when he played his guitar for me and the children at home, or even while performing in a Gospel group in front of a large crowd. He was his happiest with an acoustic guitar or electric bass in his hands.

He was a wonderful father, devoting his energy and talents to making the best life possible for our disabled son, Marcus. Despite that great responsibility, he always had enough time and energy left to make Mariah feel like "Daddy's little princess."

Tim struggled for nearly the last two years of his life, sometimes just to get dressed in the morning, yet he never complained or felt sorry for himself. His primary concern was always myself and the children, and even through pain and extreme fatigue, he always gave us his best.

Tim was truly the spiritual head of our home. He spent a great deal of time studying the Word of God, but his greatest ministry was in how he lived it. Meek, gentle and kind, yet mighty in spirit, he was truly an example of a Godly man.

He was a one of a kind, once in a lifetime love and best friend, and his spirit will remain alive in my heart forever.
