West Point, 1989

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Andrew Rodriguez on July 10, 2018:

On July 5 at 0930 I received a message that an old friend and colleague, Michael Cannizzaro, passed away at the age of 51 yesterday. Anyone that ever met Mike knows he had a commanding presence when he entered a room. More importantly he was a gentle giant that would always tell a joke and make sure that you were always taken care of. I am proud to have called him a friend and mentor.

Mike was a graduate of West Point and was proud to have served. George S. Patton once said "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." I thank the almighty that he gave us Mike. He will be missed by all who knew him.

My condolences to his family who he talked about incessantly with pride and admiration.

It has come to my attention that a fund has been set up for the children of Mike and their future. PLEASE contribute anything you can in their time of need.
