Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Adolphus Gwynn on December 11, 2007:

Hey John - it was about this time 18 years ago that we sat out on an airfield in Florida in the middle of Ranger school that you and I had an epiphanous moment wherein we concluded 3 things that echo in my mind even now...and leaves me wistful for the time and conversation on a 28 degree airfield at 2:00 a.m. as we awaited the blackhawks:

1. "I thought Florida was supposed to be warm."
2. "The fact that we're snuggled up under this poncho doesn't change the fact that we're still Hooahh!!!"
3. "I won't tell Trudy about us hugged up under this poncho and you won't tell my mom...Deal???"

Miss you old man. You carried me through the prep school and through Ranger school. I will carry you in my thoughts for the rest of my life. Thanks my friend.
