Be Thou At Peace

Posted by michael walker on May 23, 2010:

Cpt.Pain what can I say about the man that has not already been said. I had the honor to serve with him. To this day when i hear the word "gents" I look for him. I have been in several different companies and I can honestly say I never had a commander care as much as Cpt.Paine. He truely put his soilders first. When i got the news of his sacrafice I wanted to leave the wire and get some revenge for him, but i know he would not want that. He would want me to stay focused and do my job the right way. There is not a day that goes by that i dont think of Cpt. Paine and his fine leadership skills. Cpt. Paine never lead from the real always from the front. He was a man that would never ask his soilders to do something he was not ready and willing to go do himself. The best part about him was he took the time to get to know his men. I messed up about a month before we left for NTC and he never held it against me. He treated me the same as he did everybody else. There is no place on this planet i would not have followed him into. I felt so comfertable going to combat with him as my leader because you could not ask for any better. I will see you again one day sir. You will never be forgotten.
