He was a gentleman. He was an outdoorsman. He was kind, smart, and forgiving. He was a friend. Corry and I went through West Point together and our southern roots helped to bring us together and kept us that way through flight school. Though I know God is an Auburn fan, I'm sure He'll welcome a UGA supporter through those gates. John Gillespie Magee's "High Flight" Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless falls of air...
